I have not slept since school started. I’m wrung dry. Hopefully I can finish the rest of ch 3.

Changes: So the author is just using chinese pronunciations of english words. Woops.

Big thanks to: Khh Mart, Erza, Maskedcerf, and Yeow Eng Han.

“Oh, aren’t these the two renowned cripples? They’re super early today too.”

Like a daily ritual, the crowd burst into laughter with new arrivals joining in the jeering, heralding the start of a pleasant new day.

The Xi Bo Lai brothers have always been hardworking, but in the Mengjia Empire where the strong were worshiped, people like them were simply a joke in the eyes of others and objects of ridicule.

Zou Liang lightly smiled and nodded kindly, he had no choice but to be subservient. They had no money, no rights, nor were they nobility or even possessed the slightest bit of strength. Thus they could not afford to be arrogant. Providing people with a bit of entertainment was proof that their existence had some worth.

As Zou Liang smiled, Ernest also followed after with a foolish smile. The two renowned cripples were also huge fools and were known as the incomplete sky and the lacking land. One had a normal brain but an underdeveloped body, while the other had a normal body but an undeveloped brain. If their adopter, the old bearman, had not provided the War Academy with a lifetime of service, they would never have been able to enter.

Zou Liang completely understood that they were like 3rd rate goods. However, he told himself that he should not be affected by it and thus did not feel too deeply about it in his heart.

War Academy was not completely about fighting all day long. Each profession was divided into theoretical and actual combat courses, a considerably meticulous arrangement. The Meng Jia Empire had a rich history that spanned thousands of years. Through countless separations and mergers, the level of civilization had progressed greatly. As a result, the laws were pretty much perfect and the theocratic and secular powers had also integrate themselves rather well with each other.

Theory class began. Ernest had his eyes wide open as he strove with all his might to listen attentively. His eyes were open so wide that Zou Liang wondered whether Ernest’s eyeballs would fall out. However, he understood very clearly that this guy was unable to understand anything at all. Although the Bi Er bear clan was one of the major races in the empire, they were rather lacking in the brains department. Yet, they were blessed with strong combat abilities and fertility. Those factors, plus their alliance to the Tai Ge tiger clan, made it possible for them to maintain their status in the empire.

Zou Liang’s eyes were roving all over the place. Whatever the fox teacher to the front was saying did not concern him at all. There were quite a few beauties attending this class. Originally, Zou Liang was very worried that there would be dinosaurs [TL: Ugly people] everywhere. On the contrary it was the opposite. From the view of the opposite sex, this place was paradise.

Fu Ke Si fox clan girls’ elegance, Si Nai Ke snake clan’s enchanting girls, Lai Bo Te leopard clan girls’ hot bodies, etc, etc. Truly a world of bliss for any man.

In regards to the previous world, the weak Zou Liang of this life had only one thing to say. That he has no other choice but  to satisfy only the eyes. Beautiful women wouldn’t even glance at him. Even if they looked at him, in all likelihood they would quickly pass over him.

One morning period flew by very fast.. After looking east and west [TL: He was checking the hot babes out ;)], he took another nap, passing the time quickly. Actually when he thought about it, his life was full of happiness.

He was satisfied with what he had.

“Big brother, let’s go train together in the afternoon.” ”  Ou Nisi Te stuffed  the food into his big mouth. His appetite was so large that it made Zou Liang’s appetite’s disappear.

“I’ll give the rest of my food to you. Big brother has to go to the library this afternoon so you go by yourself. ”

Perhaps he was his only relative in this lonely world. Zou Liang held a great opinion of Ou Nisi Te. Not to mention, Ou Nisi Te respected him greatly, even when other people did not see him as a person.

“I am so useless, making big brother work.” Ou Nisi Te scratched his head. However, he still happily grasped the plate and swept clean the food.

Zou Liang laughed helplessly. Maybe to be like Ou Nisi Te, who was optimistic no matter what the situation and who had no worries, was true happiness. But Ya Se was like every other Bi Er clansman. . He was as stubborn as a rock. What was his past life’s dedication for?

It seemed that after the college entrance exams, life could be lived freely. He insisted on only putting effort into gaming. Unfortunately, his ability for gaming was useless in this world. If he knew that, he would have learned some cooking. Learn what mechanical engineering, God why did you not tell me when I took the college entrance exams..

Zou Liang arrived at the library and put himself on a seat without a purpose. The passing by students saw him as a dead object and ignored him completely. Sometimes Zou Liang wished they would come and mocked him with a few sentences so that the time would pass.

“Hello, may I ask in which section the herbal medicine handbook is?”

The bored to death Zou Liang who was lying on the seat heard a soft voice coming through his ear. It was a Rui Bo Te (瑞波特) of the rabbit clan.

Her soft and polite speech didn’t show any bit of the arrogance of a noble family.

The majority of the rabbit clan belonged to the non-battle occupation. In the empire they were relatively weak but a lot of them were successful merchants. However in the Meng Jia Empire where things were decided by combat strength, only possessing wealth was not enough.

Zou Liang lifted his head suddenly. A beauty!

A Beast race beauty. The rabbit clan’s figure could let a man puff blood. And indeed Zou liang almost puffed. In front of him was a quite outstanding pretty girl of the rabbit clan. This magnificence could let a person tremble and let the person realize that reading xx magazines would be better with rabbit maidens as models.

“What are you lookin at, tell me quickly.” She roared. At once Zou Liang awoke from his dream about the Bi Er clan. The brothers of the Bi Er clan, were the school’s disgrace. Every time the major clan competition came around, the Xi Bo Lai brothers would constantly be attacked by Bi Er clansmen. This made them quite anxious to not meet their fellow clansmen.

“It’s on the right. Turn left and you’ll see it.”

Zou Liang was not angry. The rabbit clan beauty knit her brows and frowned but still nodded her thanks politely. But added that the strong Bi Er clansman was a bit dull to talk to.

Although the Mengjia empire worshipped strength, the male tyrants could not bully the females so easily, after all each beast loved each of their family members. Only creating problems, peacefully passing each day was good. [What?? Help: 只要制造问题,安安稳稳的过日也不错]

The Bi er clan strong men’s obvious attitude towards beauties was quite interesting. They chased after them and stuck on like ticks to a dog. [TL: Actually says something like “cottoning up” but I thought that this was a better metaphor P:] Zou Liang shook his head, replaying his dream. Maybe, when he woke up he would return to his own world. This was just a dream.

Sunset arrived. Zou Liang began to organize the library. There was simply too much disorder with no semblance of a tidy appearance. He couldn’t help but to say, “***, do these savages not know the principle of returning books to their proper places after finished with reading them!”

Zou Liang had a small headache. He wanted to nail a note on every bookshelf, like in his previous world, to lighten his workload a little.

When he went to the herb field guide section, he saw that there was still someone who had not yet left.

“Classmate, the library is now closing, you can come again tomorrow.” Perhaps because it was too quiet, Zou Liang thoughtlessly replied with the tone he used in his previous world. [TL: As opposed to the meek way he speaks when faking out all the rest]

They turned around, looking at the Bi Er “celebrity” who was neither overbearing nor haughty with a bit of suppressed feeling. It was the rabbit clan girl.

“Excuse me, could you give me five more minutes, I’m almost done.”

“Sure, I also need some more time to clean up. It’s okay as long as you leave before the doors close.” Zou Liang smiled and nodded, then went off to do his own tasks. Beauty, and the appreciation of it, had to be regulated like medicine. Plus, he was not flower [girl] crazy.

The rabbit family girl was quite surprised but did not care, concentrating on copying the information needed.

However, waiting until Zou Liang left to leave, Zou Liang was not without reward. At least after coming here, he remembered a second name, Ai Wei Er (àiwēi’er). A cute rabbit girl.

When he returned to the dorms, Ou Nisi Te had already arrived. However, he was lying down, his entire body covered with bruises. Zou Liang didn’t know how he could endure living with this much anger in him.

“Those bastards used the excuse of exchanging pointers to beat you again!”

“Brother, it’s my fault for being weak, I will try harder.”

“Fucking hell, these guys are really sons of bitches!” [TL: He says something equivalent to that in northeast chinese slang.] Zou Liang was furious, in his memories, this was not the first time Ou Nisi Te had been beaten like this. Can exchanging pointers really lead to something like this?

He did not want to provoke anyone, but someone was always finding excuses, this world was really cheap ah!

Zou Liang sudden burst of foul language was in Mandarin, Ernest’s expression was at a loss. Of course, he knew that his brother’s anger was for his sake.

“Wait a moment, I’ll help you bandage yourself.”

At the very least, Zou Liang knew basic medical aid. Actually, even if you disregarded Ou Nisi Te’s resilience, these kinds of superficial wounds would disappear before long. But looking at his swollen-nosed, clear-eyed appearance made the flames of anger in Zou Liang’s heart rise.

Suddenly, Zou Liang blanked out in shock. Did he…really enter this role? [TL: He’s just shocked he actually feels something even though it isn’t his life.]

It also pleasantly surprised me that people have been viewing this site everyday. You guys are also getting refered from a bunch of places I didn’t even know (゜◇゜)

I think for now the release speed for this series should be one per week.

Thanks to everyone who commented and took the time out to refer this site.

Enjoy!

For those who want to read it in parts: Part (1) (2)

Arthur → Ya Se

Ernest → Ou Nisi Te

Hebrew → Xi Bo Lai

Beast Essence Print → Beast Spirit Mark

Beast Spirit World → Beast Spirit Realm

Theory of Scientific Socialism…Law of Nature debate…German…Advanced Engineering Mathematics ……Engineering Mechanics…Application of Computer Technology and Programming ……

etc etc, I forgot to do engineering mathematics….., Old devil Zhang will definitely kill me!!!

With a pitiful scream, Zou Liang woke up, looking around the dark room. On one side a big fellow snored loudly enough to shake the sky. He finally realised he would never have to do homework again.

Though he had woken up in the middle of the night, the big fellow beside him was completely unaffected. Zou Liang believed that even if lighting were to strike down, that guy would still be indifferent.

The snores were deafening, making Zou Liang unable to fall asleep. He, regardless of his previous name, was now called Ya Se Xi Bo Lai [TL: Yà sè·xī bó lái]. Subconsciously, he wanted to reach out and grab a cigarette, but unfortunately, there were none here, and, placing both hands behind his head, he sighed and felt that his short mediocre life had taken a glorious turn.

Zou Liang, male, 182 cm in height, graduated from second-rate university located in a declining city, with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, who, after graduation, got a job and worked for a bit, but returned to the ivory tower[TL: School], because he found that only in school could he play games peacefully.

Specialty: Competitive electronic games……

It seems that this was the only thing that Zou Liang could bring out. He had practiced Tai Chi for a few days, learned a bit of martial arts, randomly played at doing Taekwondo (which he had learned for the sole purpose of being better at gaming) and read a lot of legendary secret martial arts books, the kind that were 10 bucks a peice [TL: RMB. Think of it being like, a dollar or two]. Being a three-time champion of CG3D combat was student Zou Liang’s only pride, and as for his future…..never thought about it.

The situation was like this, on the first snowfall of 2011, which had come earlier than in the past, about to graduate 27 year old “advanced age” Zou Liang decided to cheer himself up with his favorite fighting game for a farewell match. He told his fans that he must retire, but unfortunately, with an explosion, he, along with the Internet cafe, bid farewell to the world.

At that time, Zou Liang’s brain only had one thought: Let bro finish this final fight, my combo is only halfway finished, ** has not come yet!!!

When he woke up, he had already been transported to this strange world. He became a Bi Er of the Bear tribe. He rather liked his new body, the height was about the same as his old body, but according to the previous owner’s memories, his body in Bi Er’s tribe was rather weak and thin. To put it simply, this guy was unpopular.

These two people had some common ground, they were both orphans. Ya Se Xi Bo Lai and Ou Nisi Te Xi Bo Lai [TL: ōu nísī tè·xī bó lái ], sleeping soundly next to him, were brothers. But they were not blood related, they were adopted. Their adoptive old man had died last year, luckily he had left a little bit of money behind. With that bit of money, as well as Ou Nisi Te doing some menial labors, they were barely able to maintain their lives at War College.

Ou Nisi Te’s personality was simple and honest, using Zou Liang’s previous world’s words, he was all brawn no brain. Honestly speaking, he was a fool.

This world was called Amond, the beast god continent. He was currently located in the Mengjia empire. It was a world ruled by beasts, but these beasts were not pets, they did not fill the streets like furry animals, in general, they were pretty much like humans. The only difference was that on the top of every beast’s head was the print of an animal. It is said that was a gift from the old Beast God. Each race was different. In short, that was the special role of the tattoo.

Zou Liang, who had received formal education from childhood, grudgingly tolerated the tattoos, for when in Rome, do as the Romans do. But just thinking about the role of the Beast Essence  prints gave him a headache, because the previous owner was so hung up on it.

This world had several materialistic doctrines that Zou Liang could not adapt to. Through the Beast Spirit Mark, one could enter a space called “Beast Spirit Realm”. It was not a place where people gathered to dine, but one of pure battle. In Zou Liang’s view, this place was an isolated space, up there existed a battle alter. Up there, warriors carried out battles, with the winner taking the Beast Essence of the loser, thus becoming more powerful. A beast could chose whether or not to enter, after all, there were many ways to make Beast Essence  stronger. But Ya Se this guy…….

How to say this…

Perhaps because of his frail body, he was abandoned as a child, and has always been working strenuously to prove himself. The old bear who adopted him had only one wish on his deathbed. He wished that Arthur could become a robust warrior of the Bi Er clan. That’s why Ya Se spent practically all his time on training. In his eyes, winning a victory in the Beast Spirit Realm was symbolic of warriors. That’s why…in five years he lost 81 bouts. In other words, all of his Beast Essence was taken away. When Zou Liang possessed him, Ya Se had just experienced another defeat. With this last defeat he returned to a normal person.

Maybe because the impression was too deep, but when Zou Liang recalled the memory even he felt terrible. Although he admired the other’s tenacity, this was simply too….retarded!

The Meng Jia empire was not barbaric at all, on the contrary it was quite developed, it seemed to be approximate to the European era [TL: I think this should be right around when Europe was conquering the New World]. The importance of War College was not at all inferior to Zou Liang’s society. In addition to professional combat skills, War College also offered all classes on all other aspects of the vocation.

However, in this world where the strong ruled, Zou Liang did not dare to have any ambitions, just wanting to live peacefully and securely through this not true, not false, difficult to determine life, surviving one day at a time, or go back to his old world, either was fine.

Little by little, Zou Liang went to sleep, withstanding that thunder like snoring. He dreamed of Ya Se in the Beast Spirit World, getting beat up again and again, but not beaten down in spirit. That kind of perseverance, to the current Zou Liang, was really a problem. Now that you’ve gone, go with a peace of mind. It’s not that big bro [TL: Referring to himself] doesn’t want to help you achieve your dreams, it’s just that the conditions are worse, it really is like clay Buddha crossing a river [TL: implies that it’s super hard]

Dawn arrived, and Ou Nisi Te was already practicing his martial arts. Before, it was always Arthur who woke him up, but older brother had been sleeping better recently. Not only that, but brother was also practicing a new method. Ernest admired his older brother very much, because his big brother had a smart brain and would one day become a heroic warrior.

Ou Nisi Te was probably the only person who still had such a naive idea.

Zou Liang woke up naturally. The place they lived in was pretty shoddy, this was a given. They were barely able to pay tuition for the first year, and he didn’t know where they would land up next year. Currently, he was working part-time in the library. For Beasts, this kind of broken job was the one nobody wanted to do, but to Zou Liang this was a great thing to do. Not only could he doze off, he also didn’t need to fight groups of burly dudes in hand-to-hand. This was a fantastic thing.

Actually, for a person who lived in a peaceful environment, suddenly arriving in this strange place, this was not insane, this was normal.

Mengjia Empire had eight major provinces. Ya Se resided in Yelusamo city, an important city located in the southern part of Yao God province. As one of the empire’s top-tier cities, it was very prosperous. Yelusamo War College was known in the city as the 3rd biggest buildings(the first two being the Temple, and the Master Spirit Engravers Association). The War college had two systems, one for combat professions, and one for for non-combat professions.

Combat professions included: archers, shadow hunters, battle hymn priests, wild beast warriors, and armored warriors; the five major professions.

It can’t be denied that they were connected to beast essence. Once a beast’s Beast Essence accumulated to a certain level it would change. There were two directions it could change, one way was a beast transformation; changing into a giant monster that corresponded with your clan’s race. The other was an armor transformation; you could conjure up armor on your body. The armor also had various attributes attached.

Generally speaking, archers, shadow hunters, and battle hymn priests would choose the armored transformation, while beasts transformed according to their profession’s characteristics. Wild Beast warriors are all Beast clan’s soldiers who chose beast transformations. Their fighting prowess was amazing, but this cultivation path also had it’s pros and cons. It lacked the technical aspect and expansion/dilation aspect of armored soldiers.

Armored soldiers; the transformation of all one’s beast essence to become a suit of armor, becoming an armor wearing fighter. This was considered a more aristocratic profession. Like archers, shadow hunters and battle hymn priests needed the armor transformation to fully carry out their profession’s characteristics. While they were forming a suitable weapon, soldiers who could beast transform could just transform immediately and easily gain effective combative abilities. Armored soldiers were more troublesome because they themselves could not transform, but required the aid of a master Spirit Engraver.

One doesn’t dare to not mention master Spirit Engravers. In this continent where theocracy was supreme, master Spirit Engravers were a particularly special group, one that no one dared to provoke. The Master Spirit Engravers Association was one that was ** more formidable, for every beast that wished to become strong required a master Spirit Engraver to form their beast essence into their desired shape, and a master Spirit Engraver could determine the success or failure of the transformation, as well as the quality.

Beast transformation breakthrough happens when Beast Essence is accumulated to a certain point, and broken through under the guidance of a master Spirit Engraver.

Becoming an armored soldier was a casting [TL:an object made by pouring molten metal or other material into a mold.] progress with the help of a master Spirit Engraver. Beast Essence is changed into a helmet, armor, arm guards, shin guards, shields, and pieces of weaponry. This process is obviously very complex.

Beast transformations, Armor Transformations, and other transformations are divided into levels: White, Copper, Silver, Gold, Dark Gold, and Diamond. Each level required a corresponding master Spirit Engraver that matched the level. Of course there was also a legendary level that existed in legends.  [TL: redundant much?]

Beast transformation is characterized by its low degree of difficulty, especially the first transformation. You could learn the basics at War college and then carry out the transformation by yourself. Of course, economic conditions permitting, you could go find a master Spirit Engraver thereby raising your chances of success, after all, a breakthrough failure would result in the loss of alot of Beast Essence. One drawback was the the breakthrough had to be complete, and not partial. For example, from the White level to the Copper level, you must accumulate enough Beast Essence to completely transform your entire body, not one half at a time.

Armor transformation’s advantage lies in the fact that one could refine according to the characteristic of their chosen profession, maximizing to the degree human technology and one’s own attributes. Archers focused their Beast Essence to form good bows and arrows, placing emphasis on agility attributes, Shadow hunters on forming suitable daggers or claws with an emphasis on speed and agility attributes, and Battle Hymn Priests on helmets with an emphasis on blessing power to enhance both their range and boosting effect.

Armor transformation allowed partial upgrades. Generally people usually upgradeed their weapon first, then successively upgraded their equipment based on their profession. This was on the basis of cultivating prominent features of your chosen profession. This method had little waste and was also safer.

Speaking of armored soldiers, it’s not wrong to say that it is a very extravagant path. Because the soldier vocation is more balanced, everything had to be good, requiring a lot of Beast Essence. But relying on your own cultivation was not enough, you also needed a master Spirit Engraver, otherwise everything would go to waste. However, once formed, and obtaining the silver level, that fighting power would be quite formidable, so this was usually the aristocrat’s choice.

But armor transformation had one more benefit, its greatest advantage…it was suave!

For most female beasts, in consideration for their beauty, there would basically be no female wild beast warriors. They were usually archers, shadow hunters, or battle hymn priests. In the more noble families, like the Bisi Mai swan family, there would emerge the rare female armored warrior, but with their status, it was quite normal.

All this was very distant to the Xi Bo Lai brothers. Ya Se did not gather his Beast Essence to breakthrough the first level, and lost all of it in battle. Sometimes Zou Liang was also very strange. If he had not lost so many times, and had saved his essence instead, what good opportunities could he have obtained to break through? But sometimes the Bi Er clan were a bit block headed, with one track minds.

Ou Nisi Te had actually obtained two chances to break through, but failed both times. He regarded his Beast Essence break though as a profound thing. Frankly speaking, it was absolutely impossible for him to break through without the guidance of a master Spirit Engraver. And with their situation, they clearly could not afford a master Spirit Engraver, not even one of the lowest level, a White stage master Spirit Engraver.

I was thinking of changing master Spirit Engraver to Spirit Engraver or Spirit Engraving Master, and wild beast warriors to berserk beast warriors. Leave an opinion in the comments and I’ll change accordingly. •ᴗ•

Status Update

Little time at work + slow translating speed = slow release.

囧rz

I’ve managed to get through half of part 2 so hopefully I get more time at work and release this part.

ヾ(´▽`;)ゝ

Once part 2 is up I’ll link the raw source in the TGC page.

The Great Conqueror Chapter 1: I am Bill (Part 1)

First time translator A at your service. This took me way too long to do for so short a part. I also was very very very liberal with my translations.

At this moment I really need a TL checker to check over my (very liberal) translations for quality/correct translation.

Also, please take the poll at the bottom of the page so I can determine how I plan to name these characters in the future. I’ve put them in full English (which is kinda….uh…you’ll see) for this part but I’ll change accordingly to the poll results.

(Any suggestions/corrections are very much welcome)

Part 2 will probably be up in a few days.

Thoughts are Italicised

Enjoy.

The snores were deafening, making Zou Liang unable to fall asleep. He felt that could he truly, regardless of his previous name, now be called Ya Se Xi Bo Lai [TL: Yà sè·xī bó lái].

He became a Bill of the Bear tribe. He rather liked his new body, the height was about the same as his old body, but according to the previous owner’s memories, his body in Bill’s tribe was rather weak and thin.

With that bit of money, as well as Ou Nisi Te doing some labor work, they were barely able to maintain their lives at War College.

Ou Nisi Te’s personality was simple and honest, using Zou Liang’s previous world’s words, he was all brawn no brain. Honestly speaking, he was a fool.

This world was called Amond, the beast god continent. He was currently located in the Mengjia empire. It was a world ruled by beasts, these beasts were not pets, they did not fill the streets like furry animals, in general, they were pretty much like humans.

But just thinking about the role of the Beast Essence  prints gave him a headache, because the previous owner was so hung up.

This world had several materialistic doctrines that Zou Liang could not adapt. Through the Beast Spirit Mark, one could enter a space called “Beast Spirit Realm”. It was not a place where people gather to dine, but one of pure battle. In Zou Liang’s view, this place was an isolated space, up there, there existed a battle alter. Up there, warriors carried out battles, with the winner taking the Beast Essence  of the loser, thus becoming more powerful. A beast could chose whether or not to enter, after all, there were many ways to make a Beast Essence  stronger. But Ya Se this guy…….

How to say this…

Perhaps because of his frail body, he was abandoned as a child, and has always been working strenuously to prove himself. The old bear who adopted him had only one wish on his deathbed. He wished that Arthur could become a robust warrior of the Bill clan.

Although he admired the other’s tenacity, this was too….retarded!

However, in this world where the strong ruled, Zou Liang did not dare to have any ambition, just wanting to peacefully and securely live through this not true, not false, difficult to determine life, surviving one day at a time, or go back to his old world, either was fine.
